Private training in your own home
I will come and work with you and your dog in the comfort of your home. Most training problems or issues occur in your own home, so it's usually the best place to start working. After a phone interview, we will discuss and schedule your first lesson. During the first lesson, we will talk about your dog and your training needs further. At this point, I can determine if multiple sessions should be scheduled, or if the single lesson is enough. Sometimes only one session is needed, and other times a series of lessons is best. All training is customized to your dog and what you wish to accomplish. A few possible reasons to get private lessons:
- Get a head start for puppy class, and be ahead of the rest.
- Learn how to teach your dog a multitude of skills, including but not limited to:
- Sit
- Down
- Here/Come (recall)
- Leave-it
- Loose Leash walking
- Targeting
- Learn the basics and foundation skills of dog sports like Obedience, Rally, and Agility, before enrolling in a big class full of distractions.
- Work on specific "problem behaviors," such as jumping, barking, handling issues, and leash-pulling.
- And any combination of the above.
I specialize in working with reactive dogs (dogs who bark/lunge/growl at other dogs or people). This does not have to be something you live with for the rest of your dog's life! I am now using a great combination of MTAW sessions as well as private lessons to make the extensive training required to "fix" reactivity issues affordable. Growing up with a reactive and aggressive dog has made me particularly sensitive to this issue and I want to help as many people as I can.
